RIVER FOREST, Ill. --- Dominican University athletics has named
Doug Burchett the interim men's volleyball head coach effective immediately.
Burchett joined DU in 2015 and has served as the assistant coach for nine seasons. He has served as the interim head coach before and will continue to keep the program at a high level. Burchett was named the AVCA Regional Coach of the Year for the 2021-22 season. He was also apart of the 2022-23 NACC Coaching Staff of the Year.
"I am grateful to the Dominican Administration for entrusting me to serve as Interim Head Coach," Burchett said. "Dominican University is such a special place to me, and it's been an honor to have helped build upon on the success of the Men's Volleyball program the last nine seasons. I look forward to continuing help raise the bar for this program and am beyond excited to get back to work with our student athletes."
Dominican men's volleyball made it all the way to the NACC Championship match last season with a young team. The Stars are hoping to get back to NCAA tournament form under Burchett heading into the 2023-24 season.
