Lauren Bliefernicht (women's track) and
Steven Tinsley (men's field), Concordia University Chicago junior
Austin Knight (men's track), and St. Norbert College sophomore
Eden Maranell (women's field) have been named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Outdoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of April 28-May 4, 2025, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.
Men's Field --- Steven Tinsley, sr., Aurora University
Tinsley, a senior from Coconut Creek, Florida, was named Men's Field Athlete of the Meet at the 2025 NACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships after the shot put and discus throw and placing third in the hammer throw. On day one, he won the shot put with a championship-record toss of 16.77 meters (55-0 1/4), breaking the old record of 15.92 meters set by Aurora's Adrian Kibuersza in 2009. In the hammer throw, Tinsley posted a mark of 51.05 meters (167-6). He scored the victory in the discus throw by uncorking a toss of 49.50 meters (162-5) on his final throw of the competition.
Men's Track --- Austin Knight, jr., Concordia University Chicago
Knight, a junior from Forest Park, Illinois, was named the Track Athlete of the Meet at the 2025 NACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships after contributing to three event wins and a runner-up finish. Individually, Knight won the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.57 and took second in the 100 with a time of 10.77 seconds. He also anchored the Cougars to victory in both the 4x100 (42.08) and 4x400 (3:22.87) relays.
Women's Field --- Eden Maranell, so., St. Norbert College
Maranell, a sophomore from Howards Grove, Wisconsin, scored points in four field events en route to Women's Field Athlete of the Meet honors at the 2025 NACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. She won the long jump (5.32m; 17-5 1/2) and triple jump (11.58m; 38-0), while also placing sixth in the high jump (1.47m; 4-9 3/4) and seventh in the javelin throw (30.60m; 100-5). Additionally, Maranell won the 400-meter hurdles (1:03.05) and third in the 100-meter hurdles (15.27).
Women's Track --- Lauren Bliefernicht, sr., Aurora University
Bliefernicht, a senior from Waunakee, Wisconsin, was named Women's Track Athlete of the Meet at the 2025 NACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships after winning the 100- and 200-meter dashes and helping the Spartans to a pair of third-place relay finishes. She set a personal best time in the 100 with a time of 12.04 seconds and took the 200 title with a time of 25.31 seconds. Bliefernicht also helped the Spartans to third-place finishes in the 4x100 (49.54) and 4x400 (4:06.02) relays.
