Edgewood Tops 2025 NACC Women's Tennis Preseason Poll

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- Defending league champion Edgewood University has been named the unanimous favorite to capture the 2025 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) women's tennis crown according to the annual preseason poll released Tuesday.

Edgewood secured 162 points and all 18 first-place votes in the poll, which consists of votes from the league's head women's tennis coaches and athletics communications professionals. The Eagles were 17-10 overall and a perfect 9-0 in league play, winning 60 of a possible 63 team points against NACC programs during the regular season.

Edgewood also won the 2025 NACC Tournament, topping St. Norbert College by a 4-1 score. The Eagles advanced to the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship, falling to 4-0 to East Texas Baptist University in a first-round match.

St. Norbert sits second in this year's poll with 132 points, edging Milwaukee School of Engineering (128) by just four markers. Concordia University Wisconsin placed fourth with 104 points, just ahead of fifth-place Illinois Institute of Technology with 96 points. Wisconsin Lutheran College (79), Concordia University Chicago (53), Lakeland University (36), and Marian University (20) round out this year's poll.

Fall 2025 Schedule: Concordia Wisconsin and MSOE are the first programs to get underway with both programs taking to the courts on Friday, Aug. 29. CUW hosts Carroll (Wis.), while MSOE faces North Park at Wheaton, Illinois.

Edgewood follows on Saturday, Aug. 30 by facing UW-Stout and Cornell College in Iowa.

The first conference matches will be held Friday, Sept. 5 as Edgewood hosts Wisconsin Lutheran and Marian in what will be the season opener for both the Warriors and Sabres. That same day, Concordia Chicago opens its season by hosting Lawrence.

Three other conference matches follow on Saturday, Sept. 6 as MSOE hosts Concordia Chicago, St. Norbert is at Wisconsin Lutheran, and Lakeland is at Illinois Tech. CUW enters NACC play on Wednesday, Sept. 10 when it hosts St. Norbert in Mequon.

NACC Tournament: The round-robin portion of the NACC slate is slated to conclude on Sunday, Oct. 12, with the top six programs in the final Fall 2025 standings advancing to next spring's NACC Women's Tennis Tournament. The tournament champion will receive the NACC's automatic berth in the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship.
