BenU's Bruno, Dominican's Richards Earn NACC Softball Weekly Awards

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (naccsports.org) --- Benedictine University senior Morgan Bruno (Romeoville, Ill.) and Dominican University sophomore Hannah Richards (Poulsbo, Wash.) have been named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Softball Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of March 9-15, 2026, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.

Pitcher --- Hannah Richards, So., P, Dominican University
Richards, a sophomore, posted a 3-1 record across four games in Florida last week. She threw two complete games and a shutout while striking out nine and conceding just two earned runs. She took the loss in a 2-1 result against Wittenberg, allowing two unearned runs on one hit and a pair of walks while striking out three over six innings. Richards rebounded against Beloit, giving up just three hits while striking out five in a complete-game effort in an 8-0, five-inning victory over the Buccaneers. She threw four innings each in victories over Ohio Wesleyan and Babson, scattering five runs on 10 hits and four walks while striking out one across the two games.

Position Player --- Morgan Bruno, Sr., INF, Benedictine University
Bruno, a senior infielder, hit safely in all six games out of the leadoff slot as Benedictine went 5-1 in Florida. She had three multiple-hit contests, finishing the week 11-for-21 (.524) with eight RBIs, four steals, and seven runs scored. Bruno had three hits, three RBIs, and two runs scored in a 14-4 win over Mount St. Mary (N.Y.) on March 9, then nearly matched it with three hits, two RBIs, and two runs scored in an 11-1 win over Wheaton (Mass.) two days later.
